Cavity design for Class IV composite resin restorations--a systematic approach.
نویسنده
چکیده
A definitive cavity design, without pins, that enhances retention and resistance form for simple and complex Class IV composite restorations is proposed. An extracted tooth model and diagrams illustrate the incisal step 4 5 O bevel design for simple cavities and the incisal step veneer bevel design for complex cavities. A case report of a complex Class IV composite restoration is presented. (Received for publication May 1985. Accepted June 1987.)

Class IV preparation design for microfilled and macrofilled composite resin.
The current standard preparation for Class IV composite restorations is the placement of a bevel on all enamel margins. This study evaluated chamfered and beveled preparations for Class IV restorations of lesions with microfilled and macrofilled composite resin. Forty incisors were obtained and standardized lesions for Class IV restorations were formed. Twenty teeth had a 1.5-mm bevel placed an...

Background and Objective: Polymerization shrinkage in composite resins is responsible for microleakage restoration. A recently introduced composite resin Filtek P90 is based on siloxanes and oxiranes which polymerize by cationic "ring opening" polymerization resulting in reduced polymerization shrinkage. The aim of this study was comparative evaluation of microleakage in class II cavities resto...
متن کاملMicroleakage Evaluation of Class II Composite Resin Restorations with Different Thicknesses of Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer
Background and Aim: One of the weaknesses of Class II composite resin restorations is gingival microleakage which contributes to postoperative sensitivity and secondary caries. The aim was to evaluate the microleakage in Class II composite resin restorations with different thicknesses of resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI). Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro study, standardized Class II s...
متن کاملEffect of Different Base Materials and Techniques on Microleakage in Class II Composite Open Sandwich Restorations
Aims: This study was performed to compare microleakage in class II composite restorations with flowable composites and dual cure composite resin as intermediate material and also to evaluate the effect of delayed light polymerization of dual cure composite base on microleakage. Materials and methods: Class II box cavities were made with air water spray and divided into four groups. Group 1 was ...
متن کاملRandomized 3-year clinical evaluation of Class I and II posterior resin restorations placed with a bulk-fill resin composite and a one-step self-etching adhesive.
PURPOSE To evaluate the 3-year clinical durability of the flowable bulk-fill resin composite SDR in Class I and Class II restorations. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-eight pairs of Class I and 62 pairs of Class II restorations were placed in 44 male and 42 female patients (mean age 52.4 years). Each patient received at least two extended Class I or Class II restorations that were as similar as ...
